Sol Melia Survives Yucatan Hurricane

AUGUST 23, 2007. Sol Melia Vacation Club (SMVC) reports that its three member resorts and four sales office locations in Cancun, Cozumel and the Riviera Maya suffered very minimal wind and water damage to buildings and landscaping from Hurricane Dean's arrival to the Yucatan Peninsula.

All sites are fully operational today and in clean-up mode. No interruption in service is expected throughout this week.

A well-organized and proactive hurricane preparedness plan was enacted several days prior to accommodate and assure safety of employees, members and their families. SMVC member resorts in the area are located at the Gran Meli'a Cancun, ME Cancun and Meli'a Cozumel.
