Sonoma Wine Country Grape Camp

Ten Spaces Remaining

. October 14, 2008

SONOMA, CA, August 29, 2007. Only 10 spaces remain for the 2007 Sonoma County Grape Camp, held September 24 to 26 in the Sonoma Wine Country. Grape Camp is the perfect opportunity for food and wine aficionados to experience the 2007 harvest up-close and hands-on, especially as vintners are expecting this year's harvest to be one of the best in recent memory.

At the luxury camp, campers will harvest grapes, blend their own wine, and experience the wine and food that define the Sonoma Wine Country. They will also spend two nights in a luxury hotel - a far cry from the rustic summer camps of childhood.

Camp activities include "The Marriage of Food and Wine" seminar under the direction of renowned Chef/Author John Ash, a dinner feast in the vineyards by Chef Mark Stark of Willi's Wine Bar, and a paella and ros'e party along the banks of the Russian River.

The camp fee is $1,500 per person per couple ($200 single supplement) and includes two nights deluxe hotel stay, all meals, seminars, transportation and all the delicious winegrapes that can be consumed during camp. An optional camp graduation dinner is available at John Ash & Co., along with an additional night at the Vintners Inn.

For further information, the camp schedule and registration go to: www.SonomaGrapeCamp.com or call 707-522-5860.

Sonoma County Grape Camp taps into the growing popularity of winery grape camps, but is unique in offering vineyard experiences in two distinct growing regions within the county: Alexander Valley and Russian River Valley. Sonoma County is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world with warmer areas where Cabernet Sauvignon or Zinfandel fully mature and cooler places for producing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Sonoma County Grape Camp is produced by the Sonoma County Winegrape Commission in association with Relish Culinary School, the Sonoma County Tourism Bureau and the Sonoma County Vintners.

Sonoma County, located 30 miles from San Francisco, is America's premier wine, spa and coastal destination, featuring more than 250 wineries and 76 miles of stunning Pacific coast.
