FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, September 4, 2007. Francois Thomas has joined the Regent Boston at Battery Wharf as general manager. Located on Boston's historic North End waterfront, The Regent Boston at Battery Wharf is the newest property in the Regent Hotels & Resorts group, and the company's first hotel in the Northeast.

"Francois' 20 years of experience managing properties here in the Northeast U.S. and countries around the world make him ideally suited to this position," says Steve Hedberg, vice president of operations for Regent Hotels & Resorts. "The Regent Boston at Battery Wharf is a unique property, combining exclusive European features with Regent's commitment to personalized service. We are delighted to have Francois on our team."

A graduate of Switzerland's famed Lausanne Hotel Management School, Thomas' background includes management positions in Geneva, Paris, Bordeaux, Marrakech and at the award-winning Wheatleigh Hotel in Lenox, Massachusetts. During Thomas' tenure, the Wheatleigh was named the Hotel of the Year - Grand Award Winner by the Andrew Harper Report and its restaurant received a Five Diamond AAA rating. Most recently, Thomas worked with the US Embassy in Paris, reorganizing the Ambassador Residence.

"I am excited for the opportunity to open this exceptional property," says Thomas. "The Regent Boston at Battery Wharf will be a sought-after destination in this historic American city."

The Regent Boston at Battery Wharf will be a 150-room luxury hotel offering guests signature Regent amenities, including an 18,000-square-foot Guerlain Spa and on-site access to a highly anticipated 7,500-square-foot restaurant and bar. Featuring three-star Michelin chef Guy Martin's cuisine extraordinaire and waterfront dining, the restaurant at Battery Wharf will be Martin's first in North America.

The Regent Boston at Battery Wharf will be part of a new mixed-use development destination in the North End, with 104-unit residential condominiums, a marina and a Coast Guard museum.
