. October 14, 2008

SEPTEMBER 12, 2007. AKA continues to grow its luxury extended-stay collection with the opening of its fifth property this year, AKA Rittenhouse Square, this month. With the addition of this newest location, situated in the prestigious Rittenhouse Square neighborhood of Philadelphia, the emerging brand has doubled its portfolio in the past year to meet the rising demand for luxury extended-stay accommodations among business and leisure travelers.

Ideally located on the bustling corner of Walnut and 18th Streets, AKA Rittenhouse Square features 81 studios, one- and two-bedroom suites. The three grand penthouse suites offer 1,700 square feet of living space and sweeping views of the city. All accommodations feature custom-designed, contemporary furnishings; luxurious Egyptian cotton linens; hypoallergenic and feather pillow selections; full-service kitchens feature espresso cabinetry, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances; while lavishly-appointed bathrooms encompass marble and granite finishes along with Molton Brown bath amenities. Guests receive complimentary high-speed internet access, local telephone service and expanded digital cable including HBO, as well as AKA brand-standard hotel amenities and services. Rates start at $155 per night for a 30-night stay, $255 per night for a seven-night stay and $295 per night for a short-term stay (a minimum of two nights) exclusive of tax and based on availability.*

The twelve-story historic property is prominently positioned, overlooking the eastern side of Rittenhouse Square, the gem of the five open-space parks which William Penn strategically planned for the city during the 17th century. The hotel residence is situated among world class restaurants, art galleries and the high-end shopping on Walnut Street, including Tiffany & Co., Burberry and Ralph Lauren.

There are educational and cultural offerings within walking distance, such as The Franklin Institute of Science and the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, home of the Philadelphia Orchestra. "AKA Rittenhouse Square's central location is among the most prime real estate in the city, providing travelers with direct access to the best attractions and leading corporations," said Larry Korman, co-president of Korman Communities. "This property brings AKA's unique blend of home and hotel to the finest neighborhood in Philadelphia."

Prior to AKA Rittenhouse Square, AKA unveiled four additional properties this year: two in New York City, AKA Central Park and AKA Times Square, and two in the Washington, D.C. area, AKA Virginia Square in Arlington, VA, and AKA Dulles Station in Herndon, VA. By 2010, the brand plans to have 20 AKA properties in major cities in the U.S. and abroad.
