SEPTEMBER 17, 2007. Hard Rock Hotel San Diego announces it has hired Jeff Walter as Executive Chef. With his credentials boasting an extensive array of culinary and hospitality industry experience, Walter is perfectly poised to lead the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego (HRHSD) food and beverage team. His responsibilities will consist of overseeing all culinary operations, including Maryjane's Coffee Shop, both Rande Gerber bars and pool menus, room service for the 420 guest rooms and Rock Star Suites and all banquets and catering for over 40,000 square feet of meeting space.

Prior to joining HRHSD, Walter dedicated more than eight years to the culinary development of Caesars Palace Resort Casino in Las Vegas, culminating in a two-year reign as the Executive Sous Chef. During his tenure, Walter worked with Chef Bobby Flay at Mesa Grill and Executive Chef Bradley Ogden, contributing to the over $200 million of food and beverage revenue for the hotel. Walter led the total culinary and stewarding operations, including the management of 74 chefs and 450 culinary employees. Walter's career has spanned from coast-to-coast, from the famed Beverly Hills Hotel and Bungalows to The Phoenician Resort in Arizona to the Governor's Club and Resort in North Carolina. Walter's diverse experience within the culinary operations of five-star properties around the country makes him a perfect complement to the discerning style and quality of HRHSD.

'The addition of Chef Jeff Walter to our exquisite roster of signature food and beverage partners, including Rande Gerber and Nobu, places Hard Rock Hotel San Diego on a culinary level unlike any other hotel in the city,' says Victor Tiffany, Senior Vice President of Concept Development. 'Jeff's long-standing leadership of many renowned destination properties gives him the experience to provide our guests with menus that not only exceed their highest culinary expectation, but are uniquely Hard Rock.'

HRHSD is scheduled to open in October 2007. The 420-room hotel will feature 17 uniquely designed Rock Star Suites, destination restaurants and bars, Rock Spa and music venue, all centrally located in the city's famed Gaslamp Quarter. HRHSD's 40,000 square feet of meeting space will feature a modern, non-traditional design and cutting edge technology. The single largest indoor space is 9,200 square feet, accommodating up to 1,000 attendees.
