HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, AR, September 19, 2007. Nearly 100,000 people have visited the Hot Springs Convention Center during the run of the "American Soldier" photo exhibit, which closes Saturday, September 29.

"We have had more than 96,488 people in the Convention Center since The American Soldier, A Photographic Tribute opened on July 3," said Steve Arrison, executive director of the Hot Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau. "All of those people have had a chance to see the exhibit, which is on display in a large area on both levels of the Center. Hundreds of visitors have commented to me and the staff that this is one of the most moving photo exhibits they've ever seen. We're sad to see it end its run here."

The Hot Springs showing was the world premiere of the exhibit, which consists of 116 action-filled photos that cover America's soldiers from the advent of photography during the Civil War through the present war in Iraq.

The exhibit was created by curator/producer Cyma Rubin, whose Capture The Moment: The Pulitzer Prize Photographs brought worldwide attention to Hot Springs when it was exhibited at the Convention Center in 2003.

The 116 enlarged photographs cover America at war from the Civil War, Spanish American War, Boxer Rebellion, World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the 1991 Gulf War, Afghanistan and Iraq. They capture the danger and the frustration, the humor and the beauty, the camaraderie, the death and the victory that American soldiers have experienced.

The American Soldier, A Photographic Tribute, will remain on display, free to the public during regular business hours, until Saturday, September 29.
