TORONTO, Canada, September 18, 2007. The Hazelton Hotel opened its doors to a buzz of excitement as the host of A-list industry guests and VIP screenings during the city's 2007 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). According to Suzanne Boyd, one of Canada's best-known style icons, The Hazelton has made Yorkville and Hazelton "the hottest corner in Canada."

"These past few weeks we have welcomed some of the most discerning guests from the world of film and entertainment to our city," says Klaus Tenter, President and COO of The Hazelton Hotel. "We are proud that we have been able to offer them a level of service, luxury and style on par with the best hotels in the world."

Within days of opening, The Hazelton Hotel has already attracted international attention in Conde Nast Traveller UK and The New York Times. The Globe and Mail says the hotel "is serious in its bid to claim the top spot in Toronto's hotel scene." The National Post reports, "T.O. goes nuts over Hazelton," and according to the Toronto Star, "The Hazelton... boasts an exceptionally fine screening room."

"The hotel opened within days of one of the most important international events of the year," said Tenter. "We are delighted by the response we received from our guests in town for TIFF and look forward to welcoming them back to The Hazelton Hotel year after year."

The Hazelton Hotel's 77 spacious guest rooms have an average size of over 600 square feet; many rooms have French doors with views overlooking the streets of Yorkville. Every room is equipped with a flat screen plasma TV, Lutron lighting, wireless connections and iPod docking stations. Granite lined bathrooms feature Bulgari amenities, deep soaking tubs, separate rain showers, heated floors and 1940's inspired vanities in polished chrome.

The limestone exterior of the hotel, designed by renowned architects Page + Steele, gives the hotel a timeless elegance. The interior of the hotel, designed by Yabu Pushelberg, the innovative design team behind projects such as Tiffany's in Manhattan, the St. Regis in San Francisco and Holt Renfrew in Toronto, evokes the intimacy of an exclusive private club. While The Silver Screening Room, designed by Christopher Hanson of Beverly Hills, with its plush caramel leather seating and state-of-the-art digital projection is downright decadent.

"ONE", the latest restaurant by Chef Mark McEwan, has a 70-seat terrace plus interior seating, a private dining room and bar fit for 250 guests. The restaurant offers cuisine along classic French and Italian lines, coupled with the best of Ontario produce and offers 24-hour full-menu in-room service, catered by McEwan, to all guest rooms.

The Hazelton Hotel's Health Club boasts an elegant mosaic lap pool and the most advanced Technogym(R) equipment while The Spa at The Hazelton offers four private treatment rooms, manicure and pedicure stations and luxurious powder rooms. The retail outlet, "Hazel" -- slated to open in November -- will carry exclusive fashion lines from international designers.

The Hazelton Hotel brings to Toronto unwavering commitment to comfort, refinement, privacy and service that has helped to earn its highly regarded position as Toronto's only member of The Leading Small Hotels of the World..
