. October 14, 2008

NEW YORKL, NY, September 24, 2007. The Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management at New York University is bringing the latest in property management software programs to its students through a donation by SoftBrands, Inc., a leading provider of software solutions for the manufacturing and hospitality industries worldwide. The SoftBrands solutions complement existing entrepreneurial curricula and technology currently taught to future hotel industry leaders at the NYU Tisch Center.

The agreement will give the students at the NYU Tisch Center access to software that is currently revolutionizing how hospitality companies manage their properties and understand their customers. "Being web centric, the software affords hotel operators maximum business intelligence using minimal hardware," said Dr. Mark Warner, Clinical Professor at the Tisch Center. "Modeling a 'chain' of virtual hotels, students and faculty members can access and interface with the PMS in any classroom that's wired to the Internet." He also noted that students will be able to generate more than 100 different internal reports from the SoftBrands property management system.

According to Dr. Lalia Rach, Divisional Dean of the Tisch Center, learning about and utilizing PMS software will provide students with an essential tool in understanding the operational and financial impacts for hotel owners, operators and analysts. "When these students enter the global hotel marketplace, they will develop and decipher reports that save time and give more information for making decisions. In the workplace this translates into making your operations more profitable."

"SoftBrands is delighted to support the NYU Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management in their continued effort to provide the best and the brightest with state of the art software for their future careers as hospitality professionals," said Jo Masters, Vice President and General Manager, Hospitality, Americas for SoftBrands. "With the flexibility of our product offerings we will be able to expose the students to various data management software solutions. These include undergraduate courses using our Epitome Property Management Systems, our Core Central Reservation Solution and our Mosaik Business Intelligence Solution in the graduate program. It is also very exciting that SoftBrands employees will be joining the faculty of NYU for guest teaching opportunities and provide internships for students within the company and encourage our hoteliers to embrace them as well. This is a long term commitment by SoftBrands to support the NYU Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management."
