OCTOBER 9, 2007. Australia's Voyages Hotels and Resorts has appointed Guy Heywood in the new role of group general manager for its Signature resorts, the group's exclusive collection of premium properties.

Heywood, who spent the last 10 years with Amanresorts in regional management roles in Asia and the Americas, will have responsibility for developing Voyages' six Signature resorts - Lizard Island, Longitude 131^0,, Bedarra Island, Wilson Island, El Questro Homestead and Wrotham Park Lodge - and ensuring they continue to represent the very best in pre-eminent luxury experiences across Australia.

In April, Voyages changed the pricing structure for all Signature properties to an all-inclusive experience, allowing guests to indulge in a complete accommodation package which encompasses luxurious accommodations, exquisite cuisine, premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, discreet service and breathtaking locations.

Further initiatives are planned for the Signature properties to ensure they continue to live up to guests' expectations for unique accommodations and unrivalled luxury experiences.

'I'm delighted to be joining Voyages Hotels and Resorts at such an exciting time in the development of the Signature range,' said Heywood. 'While each Signature property offers exceptional levels of service, it is the unique identity and location of each resort experience that will ultimately set Voyages apart from the competition.'

Voyages Hotels and Resorts chief executive officer Chris Tallent said: 'Guy has a real passion for food and beverage, guest service and individualised holiday satisfaction, and has a deep understanding and feel for this type of exclusive product and experience and the guests that choose to stay in these places. We are delighted to have attracted someone of Guy's calibre and over the coming months we will be working closely on a number of new initiatives within the Signature group of properties to ensure that they continue to build their reputations even further as the ultimate resort holiday experiences across this country.'

Most recently Heywood was general manager Amangani and regional manager Amanresorts USA and Caribbean, based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Prior to this he held a number of senior management positions with the Four Seasons Group.

Voyages is an Australian travel company, providing experience-based vacations in spectacular wilderness locations including the Red Centre, The Kimberley Region of Western Australia, Queensland and Tasmania. Voyages operates award-winning properties such as Longitude 131^0,, Lizard Island, Silky Oaks Lodge, Bedarra Island, Ayers Rock Resort and Cradle Mountain Lodge.
