Aruba Marriott Adjusts Completion Target

. October 14, 2008

OCTOBER 12, 2007. The Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino has adjusted its $40 million renovation schedule and is now slated to reach completion by Summer 2008.

"We've split the process in two phases in order to maximize time and minimize interference. Our guests' experience is our number one concern and come December we'll have a full house and will re-focus our efforts," stated General Manager Rick Zeolla. "This will enable us to guarantee that quality standards are being properly met, giving our valued guests the best experience possible."

The $40 million renovation began on July 7th with the shutting down of the South Tower of guestrooms, which will be the first area to complete the makeover. Rooms will undergo a complete redesign, top to bottom, inside and out.

"It's basically a brand new room. The only thing that will remain from the current rooms is the phone. New paint, bathroom fixtures, flooring, furniture, bedding and amenities. Even the building's internal structure will be improved, as we'll be using advanced methods to soundproof the rooms and will be rewiring the entire hotel with cable that not only will support wi-fi, but future technologies as they change and evolve," Zeolla commented.

Also part of the first phase is the lobby area and atrium rooms, which were closed on October 1st. Tuscany, formerly the hotel's fine dining Italian restaurant, is also now undergoing a transformation to turn it in to a first-class Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. These components are all scheduled for completion by mid-December.

The next phase of renovations will commence in Spring 2008 and will include an upgrade to La Vista Restaurant and the pool area. Upon completion of the full $40 million enhancement project, the entire resort, with the exception of the Stellaris Casino, will be smoke free.

In order to help communicate the latest information about the renovation to guests, both prior to and during their stay, a construction concierge has been put in to place onsite at the resort as well as a website dedicated to the enhancement project.
