Lexington Continues Big Expansion
From the Big Apple to the Big Easy
OCTOBER 16, 2007. Surging ahead on a cross-country growth, The Lexington Collection added five new properties to the brand this month from the major metropolitan areas of the United States.
The properties joining The Lexington Collection include a former AmeriSuites located on the famous Canal Street in the heart of the cultural mecca of New Orleans; a hotel in the business center of Cincinnati; a newly-constructed plaza in the "uber-trendy and hip Chelsea district of New York City; a hotel located on the premises of the world's largest Medical Center in Houston; and a former Best Western only minutes from the newly-constructed 300-acre mega playground, Gaylord National Harbor, nestled on the Potomac River near Washington, D.C.
"Hotel owners are realizing that The Lexington Collection addresses their business needs," said Steve Belmonte, CEO & President, Partner of The Lexington Collection. "As a flood of franchises blanket the market with profit-burning contracts and fees, The Lexington Collection arrives with a simple solution - offering owners short-term, annual renewable contracts, a choice of low-flat fees and no liquidated damages."
The general managers of all five properties said they chose The Lexington Collection for those reasons as well as the extensive resources made available to them by Lexington.
"We wanted our hotel to be with a progressive brand," The Lexington Hotel and Suites New Orleans general manager Osman Khan said. "The Lexington Collection offered us more comprehensive reservation and marketing resources and we feel the brand's flexible and low fee structure, in addition to our ability to select amenities that caters to our market niche, are features that fit our goals and mission to a 'T'."
According to Brent Rohde, Vice President of Membership Development for The Lexington Collection, the inclusion of the five new properties demonstrates the strength of the Brand. "More and more hotel owners are seeing the advantages of joining The Lexington Collection and the hands-on services we provide. We're happy that these five incredible properties have become part of the Lexington family."
The Lexington Collection hotel chain premiered to the public in 2006 and has been charting a new course in the hospitality industry since then. The Lexington brand is available to three and four star hotels and offers hotel owners four distinct products - hotels, suites, villas and resorts, and plazas.
As The Lexington Collection- an innovative and affordable alternative to franchising - continues to make a major impact in the industry, additional announcements on strategic and operational developments will be made.
