OCTOBER 21, 2007. Portsmouth, New Hampshire celebrates a "Vintage Christmas" in ways that are cherished holiday traditions: Candlelight Stroll and decorated historic houses at Strawbery Banke Museum, "An 1836 Portsmouth Nutcracker" by the Ballet of New England and other holiday shows every night at historic landmark The Music Hall and out-of-the-ordinary, tax-free shopping in couture boutiques, artisans' galleries and antique stores tucked in 19th century storefronts along brick sidewalks.

Costumed Ballet of New England "Nutcracker" characters will also visit the hotel's decorated lobby each afternoon when complimentary hot cider or hot chocolate and cookies are offered to visitors.
