NTA Names Recipients of Bob Everidge Lifetime Achievement Award

KANSAS CITY, MO, November 3, 2007. The National Tour Association honored Pete Anderson, formally of Maupintour, and Jim Host, founder of Host Communications, as recipients the Bob Everidge Lifetime Achievement Award. NTA presented the awards Friday during its Annual Convention in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to NTA and its members over the years, demonstrating a strong commitment to the mission of the association.

Pete Anderson served as the association president in 1988. He began working with Maupintour in1964 and has been a long-time mentor to NTA members and icon to the industry.

Jim Host, founder of NTA's association management firm, worked for several decades to nurture the strong relationship between Host Communications and NTA. Host served the association from 1974 to 1997. He was inducted into the Travel Industry of America's Hall of Leaders and the National Tourism Foundation Hall of Fame in 1998.

"Bob Everidge was dedicated to the mission of NTA and always wanted the best for our members. He volunteered his time and his character to us," said NTA Chairman and CEO Randy Julian. "Both Pete Anderson and Jim Host have demonstrated this same passion and commitment to NTA and its members. It is my honor to recognize these men and to thank them for everything they have done."

NTA will recognize several exceptional members at the Annual Convention this year for their various achievements. NTA will award the NTA Volunteer of the Year award on Saturday and the NTA Pioneer Award on Sunday at its Issues Luncheon.
