Mantra Acquires Another Resort

. October 14, 2008

NOVEMBER 6, 2007. Mantra Resorts is boosting its portfolio of properties in New South Wales with the addition of Mantra Kooindah Waters Golf & Spa Resort, a premium resort on the Central Coast, just 40 minutes drive north of Sydney.

The 84-room resort is being developed by Clarendon Residential Group and is due to open in January 2008. The property will bring Mantra's number of rooms under management to more than 3500 across a portfolio of 32 resorts.

Located in the Kooindah Waters Residential Golf Resort development, the resort will consist of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and encompass an 18-hole golf course, restaurant, endota day spa, heated indoor lap pool, outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, gymnasium, spa, sauna, children's playground and BBQ facilities.

Mantra Group General Manager Mark Hodge said the acquisition was a vital step in Mantra's expansion in New South Wales.

"Until now, Mantra has had only one property on the Central Coast - Mantra Ettalong Beach" he said. "Mantra Kooindah Waters Golf & Spa Resort is the next step in increasing our profile in this key tourism area."

The 4-star resort adjoins a championship-standard 18-hole golf course that is surrounded by natural wetlands and was designed by renowned course architect Ross Watson with input from professional player Craig Parry. The course is managed by Troon Golf - worldwide leasers in golf course management.

The imposing two-storey golf club house includes Karinyas Restaurant and Bar, conference facilities for up to 300 delegates and top floor accommodation overlooking the course.

Senior Development Manager for Clarendon Residential Group Darren Ingram said the Kooindah Waters Residential Golf Resort development was the ideal environment for Mantra's newest resort.

"Mantra Kooindah Waters Golf & Spa Resort represents a new standard in leisure accommodation on the Central Coast," he said. "The facilities and location make it the ideal place for guests to relax in style and enjoy the features of the area."

It is anticipated the resort will acquire a four star rating.
