Destination Hires CIO

ENGLEWOOD, CO, November 12, 2007. Kathleen McIntee, senior vice president and chief financial officer for Destination Hotels & Resorts, recently announced that Andrew Furrer joined the company as vice president of information technology/chief information officer.

In his new role, Furrer will lead and manage the DH&R corporate and property information technology team of nearly 50 professionals at more than 30 hotels, resorts and satellite offices. He also will be responsible for interfacing with DH&R affiliate Lowe Hospitality Group and parent company Lowe Enterprises business units on enterprise wide shared services, including planning and implementing common, cost effective IT solutions. He will oversee all strategic planning solutions, platform standards and common IT applications as well.

Furrer joins the company after more than 17 years experience in the technology field. He most recently was vice president of technology for Kimpton Hotels and Restaurant Company where he worked for nearly eight years. Furrer held a number of positions with his former hotel company working his way up from director of information technology for the Northwest. He developed a five-year strategic technology plan for the company, implemented a third party co-location center for hosting enterprise systems, managed the company's help desk design and implementation and much more.

Prior working in the hospitality industry, Furrer initiated the successful start-up of a computer service and support company in Vancouver, Wash. He also was a paramedic and fire captain for the Vancouver Fire Department for a number of years.

Furrer is relocating to Denver from Portland, Ore. with his wife and two dogs. Furrer has two grown sons and three granddaughters.
