. October 14, 2008

DECEMBER 7, 2007. MGM Grand at Foxwoods will bring new meaning to the world of casual fine dining in New England when the hotel debuts this spring. Inspired by the bustling markets characteristic of many European cities, The Market Place at MGM Grand at Foxwoods will feature an exciting culinary journey through six distinct dining experiences. Conveniently located at the entrance to MGM Grand from the property's new 2,500-space parking garage, the 6,500-square-foot dining venue will open in May 2008.

"We are thrilled to add The Market Place at MGM Grand at Foxwoods to our already impressive list of dining outlets and unique culinary experiences," said Gillian Murphy, senior vice president and general manager of MGM Grand at Foxwoods. "We're looking forward to dazzling our guests with the sights and sounds of MGM Grand as well as with the culinary flavors that this new property will bring in 2008."

Owned and operated by Ark Restaurants and architecturally designed by prominent New York firm David Schefer Design, The Market Place at MGM Grand will embody the spirit of another century. With a seating capacity of 250 people, The Market Place at MGM Grand will offer two special dining environments under one roof, including the European tradition of dining amongst food vendors and atrium-style seating overlooking the beautiful grounds of MGM Grand at Foxwoods.

Complete with weathered brick arches and aged concrete flooring under a canopy of exposed industrial metal trusses, The Market Place is sure to transport guests back in time as they enjoy the freshest and highest quality cuisine. Hand-tossed wood oven pizza, a classic New York deli, an American burger bar, pan Asian express and a Durgin-Park Oyster & Chowder Bar are among the varied options that will be available to guests when The Market Place debuts.

Ark Restaurants, based out of New York City, owns and operates 24 restaurants and bars including three at Foxwoods Resort casino; Fifth Street Caf'e, Lucky Seven and The Grille at Two Trees Inn.
