. October 14, 2008

UTICA, NY, December 11, 2007. The Cornell University School of Hotel Administration will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its General Managers Program (GMP) with a winter session running January 14 - 24, 2008, on the Cornell campus in Ithaca, New York. This unique leadership experience is designed for seasoned general managers and rising executives on the fast track to general management.

The intense 10-day program is presented by Cornell University faculty members who are world-renowned for their collective expertise across all facets of general management. Participants come from leading hotels worldwide to engage in real-world change management situations, address strategic issues, explore financial positioning models, role-play management situations, and enhance their leadership styles. The program's collaborative nature enables participants to also learn from one another.

'Hospitality executives realize that one of the best ways to hone and refine their talents is through executive education,' said Michael D. Johnson, Dean of the school. 'Our General Managers Program helps participants gain a better understanding of the industry, their operations, and most importantly, themselves. Many participants have said that their GMP experience helped to accelerate their careers.'

Located in the heart of upstate New York's Finger Lakes region, Cornell is known as one of the most picturesque universities in the United States. Popular winter activities include downhill and cross country skiing, skating, and hiking. The area is also home to over 70 vineyards featuring unique and maturing Finger Lakes wines.

The GMP summer session will be conducted June 9-19, 2008.
