. October 14, 2008

JANUARY 3, 2008. Lord John Lee of Trafford is to be the keynote speaker at UKinbound's 2008 Convention taking place in Torquay in February. The trade association is delighted to have the peer and lifelong supporter of tourism on board to deliver the address to this year's delegates.

Lord Lee is now the Liberal Democrat spokesperson for Tourism, the Chairman for the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions and was previously, alongside a varied career, the Conservative Tourism Minister from 1987 to 1989.

Stephen Dowd chief executive of UKinbound said: "We are thrilled that Lord Lee will be joining us as the Keynote speaker in February. He is widely regarded as the most successful Tourism Minister ever and his wide-ranging experience of tourism spans the industry, politics and more recently from within the House of Lords, so we are delighted to have an individual with such a varied and comprehensive knowledge of our industry addressing our members."

Lord Lee of Trafford said: "I last visited Torquay as Tourism Minister and I am looking forward to retuning for the UKinbound Convention. The English Riviera is a renowned domestic holiday resort and I am delighted that it is now also becoming a popular inbound destination."

The event is taking place in Torquay, in partnership with English Riviera. The 2008 Convention will also feature a number of other speakers, familiarisation trips of the area, a workshop and drinks and dinner receptions.
