'A Prairie Home Companion' Returns to Hot Springs on April 26
HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, AR, January 9, 2008. 'A Prairie Home Companion,' featuring Garrison Keillor, the worldwide hit radio show heard by more than 4 million people weekly, returns to Hot Springs? Summit Arena on Saturday, April 26.
?Hot Springs is tremendously honored to have Mr. Keillor bring his show back to our city,? said Steve Arrison, CEO of the Hot Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau. "This will be his third visit to Hot Springs. He brought 'A Prairie Home Companion' to Summit Arena for our first sell-out of the facility on February 7, 2004, and returned with the show?s ?Rhubarb Tour? for another sell-out on June 28, 2005."
The April 26 show will be sponsored jointly by the Hot Springs CVB and radio station KUAR of Little Rock, a service of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Central Arkansas?s public radio station. Ticket prices and availability will be announced soon.
'A Prairie Home Companion' is carried live on Saturday evenings by 580 public radio stations in the United States and on America One and Armed Forces Networks in Europe and the Far East.
Arrison said, "We are fortunate to team up with the folks at KUAR to bring this phenomenally popular entertainment legend and his show to Hot Springs again. The city received worldwide attention from the 2004 show, which has been rebroadcast numerous times in the four years since it was broadcast live from our arena. Mr. Keillor's gentle humor about our city and its status as the hometown of President Bill Clinton brought favorable comments about Hot Springs from around the world. We are looking forward to another great show in April."
