. July 21, 2016

ORLANDO, FL. July 21, 2016 - Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando officially checks in its first guests today. Cheering team members, a steel drum band, stilt walkers, Universal characters and a colorful burst of streamers inside the hotel's stunning lobby greeted the Fajardo family from Hollywood, Florida.

The opening of Loews Sapphire Falls Resort marks a milestone for Loews Hotels, as it is the first time in the company's history that two Loews properties have been connected. Loews Sapphire Falls Resort features 1,000 rooms and 115,000 square feet of meeting and event space. It is connected to Loews Royal Pacific Resort, to offer a combined 2,000 guest rooms and nearly 250,000 square feet of flexible meeting and function space. The meeting space at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort will debut this fall.

The brand new Caribbean-inspired hotel brings the number of Universal Orlando on-site hotel rooms to 5,200. A destination within itself, Loews Sapphire Falls Resort is inspired by the scenic rivers and waterfalls of the Caribbean and immerses guests in a highly-themed resort environment using traditional island styling and modern touches. Guests can experience exceptional amenities and benefits that include: •Snapping a photo from a water taxi of the hotel's dazzling lagoon waterfalls lit up at night, welcoming guests to an island paradise

•Sliding down a water slide into the largest on-site pool at Universal Orlando Resort, complete with a children's play area, two sand beaches and fire pit

•Sampling innovative, Caribbean-inspired food including the signature mojo marinated rotisserie chicken at Amatista Cookhouse, open for breakfast lunch and dinner

•Taking a one-of-a-kind cocktail journey with a rum captain and sampling some of the 75 rums being poured in Strong Water Tavern

•Easing into 'island time' in the tasteful, relaxed design of the hotel's guest rooms and suites and just outside awaits the excitement and adventure of two incredible theme parks

•Enjoying Early Park Admission to the Universal Orlando theme parks one hour before the theme park opens, along with complimentary resort-wide transportation and other benefits

"Our team is thrilled to be opening our doors today," says Complex Managing Director Barb Bowden. "Loews Sapphire Falls Resort is a stunning addition to Universal Orlando's already stellar line-up of hotels, and whether guests come here seeking fun, relaxation, adventure or all of the above, we are ready to help them make memories in our island paradise."

"Our goal was to make guests feel like they have been immersed in the charm of Caribbean culture," said Russ Dagon, Vice President and Executive Project Direction, Universal Creative. "From the moment they step inside, families will be transported to an island hideaway boasting the best features of the Caribbean, and just outside awaits the excitement and adventure of Universal Orlando's two incredible theme parks."
