DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, FL. July 21, 2016 - The Shores Resort & Spa has named Joshua Squires as the new Director of Food & Beverage of the AAA Four- Diamond resort on Florida's central east coast. In his new role, Squires will oversee the resort's extensive culinary operations - from guest dining at the property's signature restaurant, Azure, and the poolside Tiki Bar, to special event and group catering.

Squires has worked in the food and beverage industry for 15 years, most recently as food and beverages outlets director for Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando, Fla. During his tenure with Rosen Plaza Hotel, he was responsible for eight food and beverage outlets with annual sales of $8 million, six salaried managers, seven supervisors and 64 hourly employees. Prior to this, he was the manager at the Stardust Lounge, The Beacon and Wall St. Plaza - all in downtown Orlando. Squires was also a member of the U.S. Army 101 Airborne, Ft Campbell, KY from 1995-1999.

The resort's signature restaurant, Azure, serves artfully inspired dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as 24-hour room service. Azure offers beachfront dining available on an elevated outdoor terrace, giving tableside views of the oceanfront pool and the sparkling Atlantic Ocean. Alfresco seating is also available at The Azure Bar, where guests enjoy a special side-by-side tapas menu and a selection of fine wines and top-shelf liqueurs.

Among the resort's other culinary highlights is the outdoor poolside Tiki Bar, where guests can enjoy a tempting variety of drinks and snacks, or roast S'Mores and share a nightcap in the sand by a row of oceanside fire pits.
