LOS ANGELES, CA. June 30, 2016 - InterContinental Los Angeles Century City is pleased to announce an experienced culinary team behind the landmark hotel's several new dining concepts, which mark the final phase of a recent multi-million-dollar renovation. Led by Executive Chef Jonathan Wood, the introduction of Copper Lounge and the new signature restaurant, Mari Los Angeles, offers hotel guests and Los Angeles locals a fresh new option in the vibrant center of Century City. Chef Wood and his talented team of culinary experts are set to debut a thoughtful and sophisticated menu of globally inspired dishes with the July 8 opening of both Copper Lounge and Mari.

Wood has served as the executive chef and director of food & beverage at InterContinental Los Angeles for eight years. He began his hotel culinary career as executive sous chef at The Fairmont Kansas City at the Plaza. He joined the InterContinental family in 2006 at the Kansas City property and was transferred to InterContinental Los Angeles in 2008. Here, Chef Wood's culinary philosophy is showcased in his humble approach to create dishes that reflect comfort, the quality of products, and to let the food speak for itself.

Executive Sous Chef Shane Hosac serves as a culinary manager to over 30 employees, ensuring flawless execution of all Food and Beverage operations. He joined the InterContinental team in 2011 as a banquet chef, where he was responsible for all hotel banquet, catering and special events. Prior to that, Hosac worked as a culinary supervisor, chef and saucier at The Ritz-Carlton and the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, California.

Executive Pastry Chef Romain Lenoir sweetens up the InterContinental menu with his experience in chocolate and sugar showpieces. At age 14, Lenoir began various apprenticeships at bakeries and restaurants in his hometown of Dijon, France, where he developed a passion for pastry. Since then, his work has taken him from luxury hotels and restaurants in Chicago, London and Beverly Hills to his current role in Century City. In 2015, Lenoir joined the team at InterContinental Los Angeles, developing new dessert menus and pastry offerings for the hotel restaurants, banquets and events, spa, pool and room service.

“Chef Wood and his expert culinary team are instrumental in creating the culinary program for our new restaurant and lounge,” said InterContinental Los Angeles General Manager Steve Choe. “Inspired by the Japanese heritage and global travels of our hotel's owner, Mari Los Angeles will provide guests with a world-class dining experience that is sure to impress visitors and regulars alike.”

The launch of the new restaurant and lounge marks the completion of a major renovation project that includes enhancements to all public spaces, function space and newly redesigned guestrooms and suites, offering a fresh take on a more modern, elegant California-inspired look and feel. The new One Bedroom Premier Terrace Suites feature an expansive and fully furnished outdoor space overlooking downtown Los Angeles and the nearby Hollywood Hills. Upgrades to the hotel's full-service on-site spa and a sophisticated new Grand Chateau Ballroom were also completed in 2015.
