SAN FRANCISCO, CA. February 4, 2016 - Filament Hospitality (www.filamenthospitality.com), a San Francisco-based hospitality management company, is thrilled to announce the expansion of its national portfolio with the new management of sister properties, Shoreline Hotel Waikiki and Coconut Waikiki Hotel in Waikiki. Renowned for their creativity and deep industry experience, Filament Hospitality has a rapidly growing portfolio with 16 active hotel projects and numerous debuts slated for 2016.

"Increasing our presence in Hawaii is in line with our expansion plans for Filament Hospitality," says Ingrid Summerfield, Filament Hospitality's President. "Waikiki is an exciting and dynamic city and these truly boutique offerings are highly appealing to our discerning clients."

General Manager Alvida Surpia-Jones adds, "Filament's team brings extensive expertise in operating upscale boutique hotels worldwide, which will make a significant difference going forward. This new partnership will allow us the opportunity to create exceptional experiences for guests at both properties."

Filament has taken over management of the 81-room Coconut Waikiki Hotel, a colorful and contemporary offering, just blocks from the famed Waikiki Beach. An inviting island playground situated on O'ahu's vibrant South Shore, Coconut features bright, spacious rooms, which cater to travelers who are looking for a more meaningful and boutique Waikiki experience. The property has an intimate pool area with a wrap-around deck, a business center and a 24-hour fitness center. Under Filament's management, the hotel will be undergoing a refresh, envisioned by award-winning San Francisco-based designer Anthony Laurino, set to be completed mid-year 2016.

Filament also assumes management of the 135-room Shoreline Hotel Waikiki, a modern boutique hotel with a classic Hawaiian island-chic style. Just steps from the beach, and surrounded by some of the world's best shopping, Shoreline epitomizes today's Waikiki, providing guests with a truly one-of-a-kind destination. Designer Anthony Laurino was responsible for Shoreline's interior design with its minimalist Hawaiian aesthetic and the 70's tropical-modernist building boasts an engaging open-air lobby and creatively-designed layered spaces, appealing to the sensibilities of those seeking a peaceful retreat within the heart of Waikiki.

Shoreline recently welcomed Heavenly Island Lifestyle to the property, a popular all-day cafe and diner. With a surfer-chic style and relaxed vibe, Heavenly complements its home at Shoreline Hotel Waikiki.
