FORT LAUDERDALE, FL. November 23, 2015 - Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach today announced the appointment of Jorge Cardenas as the new executive chef for the beachfront hotel. Effective immediately, Cardenas will oversee all aspects of the culinary experience and operations at Bistro, the hotel's full-service beach-chic restaurant.

Cardenas began his career in New York City's Le Cirque 2000 and Cafe Boulud, where he trained under famed restaurateur and chef, Andrew Carmellini. Cardenas' extensive culinary experience includes stints at some of the city's finest restaurants and hotels, such as Cafe des Artistes, The Russian Tea Room and The Ritz Carlton. His achievements led him to Miami, where most recently Cardenas served as chef de cuisine at the Soho Beach House in Miami, Florida. In this role, he was celebrated for his innovative culinary achievements and maintained a successful and efficient staff.
