Villa Group Receives Editor's Pick WAVE Awards

. October 14, 2008

SAN DIEGO, CA, April 6, 2007. The Villa Group has announced today that two of its beachfront properties in Mexico have been selected as "Editors Picks" by TravelAge West in the publication's 2007 WAVE Awards program.

The new Villa del Palmar Flamingos Beach Resort & Spa Nuevo Vallarta has been recognized for excellence in the category of "Best New Property or Renovation, Mexico", while Villa La Estancia Beach Resort & Spa Cabo San Lucas has been honored in the category of "Best All-Inclusive Resort, Mexico."

"We are very honored to be nominated for the second year in a row for one of TravelAge West's WAVE awards," said Jos'e Castell'o, Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing for The Villa Group. "Both properties are well deserving of the recognition in their respective categories, and to be recognized by a publication so respected in the travel trade industry is indeed a big incentive to our operations."

Overlooking Banderas Bay in Nuevo Vallarta, the five-star Villa del Palmar Flamingos Beach Resort & Spa features ocean view deluxe studios, and one-, two- and three-bedroom suites, all with private balconies or terraces. Studios offer kitchenettes, while suites provide spacious living areas and complete kitchens. Recreation includes a fitness center, beachside Jacuzzi, daily poolside activities, a full meeting and convention facility, and the region's newest and largest European-style spa.

Situated on El M'edano Beach in Cabo San Lucas, the six-star Villa La Estancia Beach Resort & Spa indulges with all the luxuries of an upscale getaway. From personalized check-in service to exclusive in-suite amenities, special touches abound. Well-appointed one-, two- and three-bedroom suites feature a full kitchen, plus spacious living and dining areas - with beautiful views of the Sea of Cortez and Land's End. Guests can enjoy fine dining, a free form pool with swim-up bar and a new Baja themed spa set to open this summer.

Created to honor suppliers going the extra mile, the two-phase WAVE Awards recognition begins with TravelAge West's Editor-In-Chief, Ken Shapiro, and his editorial team carefully reviewing product analysis, on-site visits, agent surveys and on-line research. The program continues with a formal WAVE Awards balloting initiative during the month of April, where travel agent professionals throughout the 14 Western states and readers of TravelAge West are invited to vote on the best-of-the-best from the list of "Editors Picks" awarded in 50 categories.

The WAVE Awards culminate at the 2007 TravelAge West WAVE Awards Gala on June 7 at The Four Seasons Hotel, Beverly Hills. At this time, "Editor's Pick" winners will be honored and "Reader's Choice" recipients will be announced.
