Caymans Choose FreemanGroup Service Training

. October 14, 2008

MARCH 28, 2007. The Cayman Islands has solicited the expertise of the service training company, FG Destinations. The subsidiary company of FreemanGroup exclusively specializes in helping Caribbean and other global destinations supersede visitors' expectations.

According to Central Intelligence Agency world reports, tourism in the Cayman Islands accounts for 70-75 percent of its annual Gross Domestic Product. With the growing competitive market for visitors to the Caribbean, the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism (CIDOT) has contracted FG Destinations to help them improve experiences for their visitors. In order to do this, the company will implement a continuous and measurable service training program for the country's tourism sector.

"We are honored to be involved in this project with the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism," said Bill Freeman, founder and CEO of FreemanGroup. "In order to continue enjoying its competitive advantage over other tourist destinations, it is vital that Caribbean nations follow the lead of countries such as the Cayman Islands. Investing in continued education for the tourism sector increases quality standards for visitors and helps destinations remain globally competitive."

With more than 20 years of experience advising hospitality industry businesses and destinations, FG Destinations will implement the first year of a three year project to elevate service standards in the Cayman Islands.

The company will implement its Service Standards and Promises programs for the islands' tourism industry, personalized and comprehensive programs that will ultimately deliver high-quality customer service throughout the island nation by enhancing the operational and behavioral skills of frontline staff.

The program will measure the current customer service quality in public sectors such as hotels, restaurants, the airport, emergency and security officials, among others. In addition, FG Destinations experts will train approximately 2,000 tourism industry employees, as well as officials of allied government agencies (customs, immigrations, Department of Tourism, police, Cayman Airways).

Kedrick Malone, Managing Partner of FG Destinations and a former Director of the British Virgin Islands Tourism Board, stated, "FreemanGroup has been working in the Caribbean for over twenty-three years, supporting many of the leading destinations in the region with comprehensive hospitality and tourism service training programs. The Cayman Islands is implementing its program, which will be very significant to the development of the country. Together we will enable the frontline staff of hospitality businesses to deliver high quality service."

"We are constantly looking for ways to improve our visitors' experiences, whether they travel for business or pleasure," said Hon. Charles Clifford, Minister of Tourism for the Cayman Islands. "Our goal is to go above and beyond our visitors' expectations and to ultimately keep them returning to the Cayman Islands year after year."
