Hawks Cay Resort in the Florida Keys Enters Final Phase of Multi-Million Dollar Renovation

Duck Key, FL - December 12, 2014 - Hawks Cay Resort, an iconic Florida Keys resort destination, announced today it has entered the final phase of a multi-million dollar renovation. The extensive project touches nearly every aspect of the resort from the landscape architecture and exterior reception area to the lobby and guestrooms as well as meetings facilities, Calm Waters Spa and the kids' activities center. The renovation is part of the re-launch program initiated by Carey Watermark Investors, which acquired the resort in the fall of 2013. Pyramid Hotel Group, the resort's new management company, is overseeing the project.

"People come to the Keys for the water and to experience the unique island flavor found here, so it only makes sense that our redesign reflects the natural beauty that surrounds us," said Hawks Cay's Regional Managing Director Sheldon Suga. "By bringing the fresh colors and beautiful light of the outside into the decor, we've created an authentic Keys experience at every turn."

The resort has taken on a coastal casual design, infused with a range of aqua and blue hues that overlap a crisp palette of whites and light grays. The redesign's simple elegance ensures that seaside sensibility pervades every aspect of a guest's stay, from the moment of arrival through departure.

As part of the renovation, the resort has added a variety of new amenities and activities to create memorable guest vacation experiences. These include luxury cabanas at the adults-only pool area and chic penthouses equipped for stargazing. The renovated kids' activities center features a new high-tech hangout for teens and an expanded educational program complete with an indoor, saltwater touch tank for Island Adventure Camp, designed for children age five to 12.

The final piece in the new Hawks Cay experience will debut in June 2015. At that time, the resort will unveil a new Marina Walk to serve as an entertainment destination. Home to watersports and charter captains as well as shopping and local artisans, the Marina Walk will bring island culture and an authentic Florida Keys experience to guests' fingertips. The Marina Walk will be complemented by an impressive new-build restaurant that features expansive outdoor seating with multiple fire pits, private dining and panoramic views of the ocean.
