. October 14, 2008

TUMON, Guam, March 28, 2007. Several Philippine-based travel agents walked away with high-end prizes at the Hafa Adai Reception held in their honor by the Guam Visitors Bureau on March 6th at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Manila. With arrivals from the Philippines showing a significant increase (19%) over last year, the GVB wanted to thank the many travel agents whose hard work is largely responsible for the rising number of Filipino visitors to Guam.

Travel agents from Winlink Travel, Travel Update, Bridges Travel & Tours, and Skynet Travel Corp. each won hotel stays and other prizes for enhancing their visit to Guam. Ms. Michelle Narvaez and Ms. Issa Dimaano from Philippine Airlines also won hotel stays and more, plus unwittingly set the stage for the grand prize, a free trip to Guam compliments of their employer.

The grand prize, a four-day/three-night trip to Guam courtesy of Philippine Airlines, was won by Ms. Amor Baldovino and also included accommodations at the Ohana Oceanview Hotel and dinner at Toh Jee restaurant.

In addition to honoring the travel agents, the GVB also recognized Continental and Philippine Airlines for their contributions to Guam's tourism industry. The two airlines are the main carriers providing service to and from Guam and the PI.

GVB extends special thanks to Philippine Airlines, Ohana Oceanview Guam, Fiesta Resort Guam, Days Inn, Royal Orchid Hotel, Pacific Islands Club, Avis Rent-A-Car, Hotel Nikko Guam, Hertz Rent-A-Car, Mandara Spa, and Gef Pa'go Chamorro Cultural Village for the many outstanding prizes received by some of the Philippine's most outstanding travel agents.
