NEW YORK - October 8, 2014 - Andaz Wall Street is delighted to announce the opening of Dina Rata restaurant and bar, which opened October 6th. Offering upscale American bistro cuisine and creative cocktails in the heart of New York's Financial District, the new space overlooks the iconic Pearl Street as well as Andaz Wall Street's courtyard where the property's seasonal Biergarten and Farmers' Market is held.

With its cozy yet polished atmosphere, Dina Rata seats just over 60 patrons, which includes a private dining space that can be reserved for parties of up to about 16. Designed by interior designer Larah Moravek, Dina Rata features a warm color palette of browns and reds. The intimate bar and restaurant includes comfortable red leather banquettes and chairs, wood and marble dining tables, sheer curtains and a finished marble bar with brown leather seats. Chalkboards located behind the bar display the day's menus and specials. The new design aims to offer an inviting and comfortable atmosphere akin to that of a residential apartment, reflecting the revitalization of downtown and influx of residents who are making this renewed neighborhood home.

“All good businesses evolve with the times and at Andaz, we also evolve with our location,” said General Manager Rusty Middleton. “Lower Manhattan, home to Andaz Wall Street, has changed tremendously since the hotel's opening and the restaurant reflects those changes, offering a cozier, more residential and inviting feel.”

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menus at Dina Rata were conceptualized and executed by the hotel's Chef, Victor Cruz and feature fresh and seasonal dishes using many ingredients sourced locally and inspired by the Hudson Valley. For dinner, patrons can choose from a selection of Small Bites and Large Bites. Small Bites include the Lobster Salad with citrus aioli, onions, chives and brandy; Oven Roasted Chili Shrimp with lime, butter, cilantro and Sriracha; and Roasted Mushrooms with sweet garlic hazelnuts, goat cheese mousse and onions. Large Bites include the Kale Salad with crispy kale, tomato confit, radishes, cucumber and Buratta cheese; Spicy Roasted Salmon with asparagus, citrus lime yogurt and chilies; Pomegranate Glazed Short Ribs with cherry peppers and apple slaw; and Roasted Pork Belly Bites with brown sugar vinegar and house made mustard. For the Wall Street set looking to splurge, the High Roller Burger with seared foie gras, a fried egg, bacon, lettuce, tomato and pickles on a toasted brioche bun retails for $45.

Breakfast at Dina Rata includes “Get it Chilled” and “Get it Hot” items. Among the chilled highlights is the Yogurt Parfait with Greek yogurt, passion fruit coulis, seasonal fruit, local honey and homemade granola; and the Smoked Salmon Plate with New York state smoked salmon, shaved red onions, capers, dill, crème fraiche and chilled hardboiled egg. Hot dishes include the Warm Quiche Lorraine with cage free baked eggs, smoked bacon, gruyere cheese and chives; Dutch Baby, a souffle pancake with homemade spiced fruit, whipped cream and sweet powdered sugar; and Corned Beef Hash with cage free baked eggs, potato and roasted onion.

The lunch crowd at Dina Rata can choose from a variety of soups, salads, sandwiches and other upscale bistro items. The extensive menu, which includes smaller portions of many of the dinner items, also features additional options such as the Sweet Caramelized Onion Soup with rich veal broth, sherry wine and goat cheese crouton; the Lentil Salad with marinated cremini, goat cheese, roasted piquillo peppers and white balsamic dressing; and a variety of gourmet sandwiches including the Smokey B.B.Q. Bourbon Pulled Chicken wrap with creamy gouda and pickles and the Roasted Sliced Prime Rib wrap with silky brie, garlic roasted peppers and horseradish spread.

The extensive cocktail menu at Dina Rata is prepared with fresh, house-made ingredients, syrups and a range of premium liquors created by the bar's skilled mixologists who employ a wide range of experience in fine and rare spirits, as well as with classic bar tools. Cocktails range from signature drinks and timeless classics with a twist such as the Ivy Fizz with Ketel One vodka, lime, orange bitters, mint, soda; and the Jack's Martini with Hendrick's gin, elderflower cordial, cucumber and lemon to intriguing seasonal beverages such as the brandy-based Dina Rata Smash with applejack brandy, lemon, mint, fees brother's bitters; the vodka-based Lady Lazarus with Brooklyn vodka, pama liquer and grapefruit; and the tequila-based Commission & Fees with Lunazul blanco, barenjager, lime, pink & black owl's and orange bitters. The bar also has a variety of local and international beers, wines and non-alcoholic beverages.

Dina Rata loosely translates into “day” and “night” in several languages and reflects the hotel's mission to not only transition smoothly from day to night for its guests and neighborhood, but to continually serve as a place to rest, relax, create, collaborate or celebrate depending on one's need.

“We are excited to bring a stylish and lively bar and dining experience to Andaz Wall Street, said Middleton. “Offering breakfast, lunch and endless options in the evening, Dina Rata is a perfect spot for everything from business breakfasts and lunches to happy hour cocktails and bites after a long work day.”
