The John Hardy Group Handles Development Oversight for Marriott Marquis in D.C.

July 3, 2014 - Designed adjacent to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, a new-build, 1,175-room, 49 suite hotel will open on May 1, 2014; The Marriott Marquis D.C., was developed by Quadrangle Development Corporation and Capstone Development, LLC. The John Hardy Group, a hospitality development services firm (with offices in New York, Atlanta and Paris) was engaged to monitor the top-down construction process.

Modern in look and feel, the grand building serves the practical needs of the convention center guests as well as transient visitors. The hotel features a vast atrium with a complete skylight roofing system (seen throughout the property), patriotic themed artwork on a heroic scale by Rodney Carroll, 100,000 square feet of meeting rooms (with natural light in pre-function areas) and ballrooms. It will also add a variety of retail stores, and signature restaurants to the local dining scene.
