Embassy Suites Denver Downtown- Convention Center Announces New F&B Team

Denver - March 4, 2014 - The Embassy Suites Denver Downtown - Convention Center - a flagship property for the brand and a leading downtown Denver hotel - is pleased to announce that it is elevating its Food & Beverage offerings with the hiring of two exceptional new culinary professionals - Nikolyn Grant as the Director of Catering and Kirby Kiner as the Director of Food & Beverage. The award-winning hotel has also promoted Shane Marcotte to the position of Executive Chef.

Managed by Denver's Sage Hospitality, the Embassy Suites Denver Downtown is home to Elements Restaurant & Bar, which serves classic American fare in a comfortable, modern setting. Later this year, the hotel will unveil a new restaurant concept on the corner of Stout and 14th streets, giving downtown Denver visitors and hotel guests a unique new dining destination.

The new F&B team is currently crafting innovative new catering and event menus for the hotel's 25,000 square feet of exceptional meeting space, which can accommodate groups up to 650 in four extraordinary ballrooms boasting floor-to-ceiling windows.

Grant most recently served as the Director of Special Events, Sales and Catering at San Francisco's famous Mina Group. A graduate of George Mason University, other previous positions include Senior Account Executive at Design Cuisine in Arlington, Virginia and Special Events Consultant at The Blue Rock Inn in Washington, Virginia.

Kiner joins the Embassy Suites Denver Downtown from Florida's Il Lugano Hotel and Residences, another Sage property, where he also served as the Director of Food & Beverage. Other previous experience includes serving as General Manager of the Ruth's Chris Steak House in Boca Raton, Florida, Director of Banquets at Chicago's Westin Michigan Avenue and as the Food & Beverage Outlets Manager at The St. Regis Aspen. He is a graduate of Michigan State University.

With more than 16 years of culinary experience, Marcotte was hired as the Embassy Suites Denver Downtown's Sous Chef in late 2010. He previously served as the Executive Chef at the Beaumont Hotel in Ouray, Colorado. A graduate of the New England Culinary Institute, Marcotte also owned a restaurant in Montrose, Colorado for over three years.
