Nathaniel Reid Named Executive Pastry Chef at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis
St. Louis area native last year was named one of the “Top 10 Pastry Chefs in America” and
April 16, 2013 - Nathaniel Reid, a native of Farmington, Mo. and an award winning, internationally recognized pastry chef, has been appointed executive pastry chef at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis. He will be responsible for overseeing the pastry operations at the Clayton luxury hotel.
Reid was named one of the “Top 10 Pastry Chefs in America” by Dessert Professional magazine in June 2012. He was a competition judge at the 2012 and 2011 U.S. Pastry Competition in New York City. He was also the winner of the U.S. Pastry Competition Pastry Chef of the Year 2010 in New York City. Later that year, Reid was a guest chef at the Cirque Culinaire at the Peninsula Hotel in Tokyo, Japan. In 2009, he placed first with the Best Chocolate/Confection at the Pastryscoop.com Golden Scoop Awards and placed third at the International Patissier Grand Prix in Tokyo as a member of team U.S.A.

Reid is a graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu in Paris with a Grand Diploma in Culinary and Pastry Arts. He is also a graduate of the University of Missouri - Columbia.
Prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis, Reid served as pastry chef for the renowned Norman Love® Confections in Fort Meyers, Fla. Previous to that, he was the executive pastry chef of St. Regis Monarch Beach, a Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond resort in Dana Point, Calif., and held pastry positions with Michelin Three-Star Joël Robuchon Restaurant at The Mansion Hotel (MGM Grand) in Las Vegas and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Las Vegas.
