Executive Chef Promoted to Resort Manager for CordeValle

SAN MARTIN, CA - August 14, 2012 - Renowned Executive Chef Luca Rutigliano has been named the new Resort Manager for CordeValle, a Rosewood Resort, where he joined the staff in 2006.

Rutigliano, whose start in the hospitality industry began with training in Italy, will oversee all operations that relate to member and guest experiences at CordeValle. That includes accommodations, Sense® Spa, the Robert Trent Jones Jr. golf course and the Tennis Club, as well as food and beverage service.

Although he no longer will hold the title as Executive Chef, Rutigliano will be available to consult on the culinary program at CordeValle. Prior to being named Executive Chef, Rutigliano first joined CordeValle as Head Chef and also served as Food and Beverage Manager.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for me to expand my career and take it in a new direction,” said Rutigliano, an award-winning chef who has received extensive training at five-star hotels and resorts throughout Europe, the Caribbean and the Middle East. “I am very excited about this new position. My experiences around the world with destination hotel operations, both large and small, will help provide the best member and guest experience possible at CordeValle.”

Born and raised in Italy, Rutigliano received a portion of his training in Rome, and then graduated from the prestigious Etoile Culinare University in Venice. Prior to his position at CordeValle, Rutigliano held the admired position of Executive Sous Chef at The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel, in New York.

Rutigliano's awards and accolades include first place at the Super Star Culinary Competition hosted by the revered Chef Alain Eigenmann, and the Vatel Club Trophy.
