Singapore - July 8, 2011 - Drift into durian heaven with Chef Christoph as Orchard Cafe brings back its popular Delicious Durian Dinner with more mouth-watering desserts!
Save yourself the hassle of handling this thorny fruit and enjoy free flow of fresh durians at our Durian Station specially set up at the Orchard Terrace. Chef will be whipping up ala minute durian fritters, waffles or simply the freshly opened fruit to delight fans of The King of Fruits!
The dinner buffet features a wide spread of Singapore favourites including Orchard Cafe's Signature dishes such as Braised Pork Belly, Fried Bee Hoon with Pig's Trotters, Ikan Assam Pedas and LIVE cooking stations dishing out Fresh Herbal Prawns, Kuey Chap, Laksa, Mee Rebus and more. Indulge in a variety of the spiky fruit desserts such as Glutinous Rice with Durian, Durian Ice Kacang, Durian Puffs, Durian Smoothie, Durian stuffed Pancakes, Signature Chilled Durian Pengat Shooters and Chef Christoph's new creations!

The Delicious Durian Dinner is available only for the month of July 2011 and priced at $52 for weekdays and $59 for weekends.

What sets 36-year old Chef Christoph aside from the rest is his culinary versatility - having spent several years on home ground as well as travel to different parts of Europe and China. Chef is well versed with classic French Cuisine and during his travel, he picked up other International and Asian cuisines.
Guests can feast on Chef Christoph's new creations from our revamped “Go Local” Buffet spread. New highlights include Dory Fish sealed with local Otah wrapped in Puff Pastry, Chili Snapper baked in Herb Dough, Slow Roasted Veal with Otah Dressing (a fusion version of the classic Vitello Tonato dish), Edamame Panacotta with Crab & Truffle and Chocolate Moulleux with Mango Sorbet.
Chef Christoph is a familiar face at the Millennium and Copthorne Hotels in China, having worked with Millennium Hotel Wuxi as Executive Chef for two yeas. He was first exposed to the kitchen operations at the age of 17, which sparked a livelong passion for cooking. Upon graduation, he worked in his family restaurant as a chef for six years. After which he held a variety of culinary positions with various International hotel chains and became an Executive Chef at the age of 28.
Belgium-born Christoph who speaks Dutch, English, French, German and Mandarin is known for his culinary flair and acute management skills and no project is too difficult for him to accomplish. He has extensive experience with pre-opening hotels and was part of the opening team for hotels around the globe including Millennium Hotel Wuxi.
