Setai Fifth Avenue Opens
A Capella Managed Hotel,
November 4, 2010 - Change has arrived with a flourish in midtown Manhattan, as the neighborhood that has (almost) everything adds luxury, style and service to its roster with the opening of The Setai Fifth Avenue, managed by Capella Hotels and Resorts. The new hotel boasts some of the most spacious rooms in Manhattan, in a building that marks a striking addition to the New York City skyline. Local residents and professionals working in midtown will share the benefits, as well, as The Setai Fifth Avenue features a new restaurant from acclaimed chef Michael White, Ai Fiori; a Julien Farel Salon; an Auriga spa; and a new fixture at street level, the Bar on Fifth.
A ribbon cutting ceremony with city officials and executives of Bizzi & Partners, the Setai Fifth Avenue's developer, as well as executives of Capella Hotels and Resorts, has been scheduled for November 5th.
Located in the heart of midtown Manhattan at 400 Fifth Avenue, between 36th and 37th Streets, The Setai Fifth Avenue features 157 guest rooms that are among the largest in the city (the majority at 700 square feet or larger). In addition, there are 57 suites including three penthouse suites. These are complemented by an exceptional collection of condominium residences on the tower's top floors.
The Setai Fifth Avenue also features an expansive and state-of-the-art fitness center; sophisticated space for executive meetings and social events, and the attentive, around-the-clock services distinctive to Capella, including the attention of a Capella personal assistant.
Rooms feature Duxiana beds, Pratesi linens, and custom-built desks. Expansive, faceted windows project onto the street, flooding the rooms with natural light, while a touch of a button draws drapes closed for privacy. Baths are clad in stone and walnut veneer, with deep-soaking tubs by Zuma, rain showers, and televisions inset into the bathroom mirrors.
Fifty-four hotel suites each have a separate bedroom and living room. Furnished kitchens will feature a full-sized refrigerator, stove and appliances by Miele. There will also be three penthouse suites, each one-of-a-kind. Finished in rosewood and white marble with gold veining and textiles in deeper browns and red accents, the 1,900-square-foot suites will feature two bedrooms with the option to connect up to two connecting suites for a total of four bedrooms, three living rooms and four-and-a-half baths.
Spanning the entire fourth floor of The Setai Fifth Avenue, at more than 11,500 square feet, the Auriga spa will transcend the typical urban wellness facility. The spa features eleven private treatment rooms, wet rooms, experiential showers, a vitality pool, sauna, steam room, and hammam.
The spa also features a Julien Farel Salon, bringing top tier beauty services and French-inspired styling techniques to The Setai Fifth Avenue. Individual men's and women's salons provide private spaces for unparalleled pampering and a full array of beauty and styling services.
On the second level of the Setai Fifth Avenue is Ai Fiori, from the Altamarea Group and Chef Michael White. Slated to open to the public in the coming weeks, Ai Fiori will feature the cuisine of the Riviera with a core focus on the Italian Mediterranean coast, drawing strong influence from the region's French cuisine.
Designed by Gwathmey Siegel & Associates, The Setai Fifth Avenue hotel shares its striking, 60-story tower with The Setai Fifth Avenue Residences, a luxury condominium by worldwide developer Bizzi & Partners. With interiors by DAS Concepts, Inc., the residences offer their owners the height of luxury and an enviable address with exclusive amenities and services. Closings are anticipated to begin at the end of 2010.
