Grand Heritage Opens CostaBaja Resort in La Paz, Mexico

A Gary Player Designed Golf Course Sits Next to the 115-room Hotel

La Paz, Mexico - September 29, 2010 - CostaBaja Resort & Spa is now open and accepting reservations. CostaBaja Resort & Spa is the centerpiece of the 550-acre Costa Baja development and is first 5-star resort in La Paz, Mexico. In addition to the new hotel, Costa Baja will also be opening a new Gary Player Signature-designed golf course on November 7. CostaBaja Resort & Spa is just 10 minutes north from downtown La Paz, the capital of Baja California Sur. The resort is set on the magnificent Sea of Cortez overlooking a 250-slip double-basin marina and white sand beaches.

The 115-room property brings a 5-star luxury resort experience to La Paz. Rooms offer a selection of ocean, mountain, golf course and marina views. In-room features include 42-inch flat-screen televisions, glass enclosed showers, and dark mahogany wood finishes to contrast the bright surroundings. 24-hour room service is also available.

CostaBaja Resort & Spa will also be home to the first spa in La Paz, two signature restaurants, 2 pools, a beach club, and a stunning 18-hole golf course designed by Gary Player Design. The property will also include a 2477 sq foot ballroom for corporate retreats and other group functions. This facility can also be divided into three different spaces for smaller functions.

Additional Costa Baja amenities and features include:

  • Gary Player Signature Golf Course – Scheduled to open November 7, the new Gary Player course will offer a challenging golf experience in a dramatic setting, with 14 holes overlooking the Bay of La Paz.
  • New Signature Restaurants – Steinbeck’s Steakhouse will offer world-class fare, including grain fed steaks on a wood-fired grill. The Marina Bar will also offer outdoor seating and light fare/cocktails with sweeping ocean views.
  • Marina CostaBaja – The marina at CostaBaja is one of the finest in the region with more than 250 slips for vessels ranging from 30-220 feet, on-site fuel dock, dive shop, desalination plant and 24-hour security. The lively Marina is also lined with fine restaurants, shops, galleries, and charter services. Signature restaurants include: Azul, La Barcaccia, and new ones soon to come.
  • Easy Access to the Sea of Cortez – Costa Baja offers daily excursions to Espiritu Santo and other attractions on the Sea of Cortez. The area once described by Jacques Cousteau as God’s Aquarium offers boating, snorkeling, fishing, kayaking and other outdoor pursuits.
