Huff, Niehaus Structures Sale of Radisson Admiral Semmes Hotel

. September 07, 2010

September 3, 2010 - Huff, Niehaus & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce the sale of the Radisson Admiral Semmes Hotel in Mobile, Alabama. The Admiral Semmes was purchased by a partner involved in the Holiday Inn across the street. The Radisson franchise was canceled at closing. The hotel will operate as an independent under the Historic Hotels of America and is connected to Preferred Hotels.

Brandt Niehaus, President of Huff, Niehaus & Associates, Inc. and member of Hotel Brokers International was the broker in the transaction representing the Seller, ASH II, Ltd.

“This was a strategic sale for ASH II, Ltd. with many of its 35+ partners now retired and wanting to dispose of their last hotel. They had owned the Radisson Admiral Semmes Hotel since 1992.” said Niehaus. “The new owners plan an extensive renovation of more than $4.0 million dollars. Whether they will put a new flag on it is yet to be determined. The buyer enhances their position in the market and gains some operating efficiencies with two quality hotels in downtown Mobile.”

The 170 room full service hotel was sold for $3,500,000 which included an additional vacant lot. The closing was handled by First Mobile Title Inc.
