RUMOR Las Vegas Debuts

. August 23, 2010

August 18, 2010 - Creating a new category of the ultimate Las Vegas lodging, The Siegel Group brings you RUMOR, setting the standard for boutique chic resorts. Formerly the St. Tropez Hotel, the two-story, intimate RUMOR is now open, featuring a powerful combination of compelling elements: hot location, cool pool, zero attitude, modern rooms and unexpected amenities all in a unique boutique hotel setting. Having watched the Las Vegas skyline grow bigger and taller with each new resort built on the Strip, Stephen Siegel, founder and chief executive officer, The Siegel Group, decided it was time to turn conventional wisdom on its head and craft a new vision for Las Vegas which included personal, boutique hotel properties.

“I felt it was time to completely change the Las Vegas paradigm,” explains Siegel. “Without question, we have designed an entirely new hotel experience for Las Vegas locals and visitors,” he adds, “Sexy yet unpretentious, glamorous and accessible, eclectic with a relaxing and inviting ambiance are what RUMOR's look and feel are all about.”

To create this stylish chic resort retreat, The Siegel Group collaborated with award-winning Las Vegas based interior design firm Tandem to bring Siegel's vision of the 150-suite RUMOR to life. The reborn RUMOR evokes the stylish feel of a Las Vegas-meets-Palm Springs hotel with a Los Angeles feel infused with unconventional design that create a cozy, boutique resort featuring distinctive character and charm.

Visitors see right away there's something quirky and fun waiting for them inside RUMOR. They are greeted by Chinese foo dogs, hand carved from solid slabs of distinctly colored cantera stone. The porte cochère is perfectly framed in flowing drapes and the ceiling above supplements its own show of colorful hues and inviting patterns.

A sense of wonderment and delight greets guests as soon as they enter, with 10-foot glass doors revealing a stunning display of original artwork which sets the tone for what is to come. A departure from the impersonal and vast typical casino lobby, RUMOR's lobby has an ultra-lounge feel, awash with soothing ivory and white tones accented with an injection of criss-crossing metallic lines on the pavered floor. As if given new life from a Victorian era, the front desk features traditional millwork, all in tranquil white.

Natural light floods the area as the lobby lounge merges seamlessly with the oasis outside. Guests experience effective pops of lavender colors throughout the contemporary property and the bar serves as a stunning centerpiece, finished in luxurious Carrara marble.

Also making its debut is the property's restaurant: Addiction. Incorporating classic dishes with a modern flair, the “addictive” cuisine is available for breakfast, lunch, dinner and room service. Helmed by popular chef Vic Vegas, Addiction's signature dishes include his incredibly unique crème brûlee oatmeal, Cuban Reuben, sea bass satays or Kurobuta karmal pork. The restaurant's sleek decor includes a clever portrait of a hot pink knife, fork and spoon, which adorns one of the walls. A private dining room seats 12 with dripping chandeliers and an oversized high communal table. Here, guests enjoy an intimate function or mingle while overlooking the lobby when it is open. The main restaurant spills out into the courtyard with indoor and outdoor seating.

Speaking of the outdoors, completely unique to RUMOR is its courtyard which features its signature pool area, wet deck and lawn, all framed with matured palm trees. A perfect oasis for either relaxed lounging or enjoying the energy of the pool party scene, the pool area and shimmering wet deck provide a unique outdoor setting and experience. By day, the sparkling water and lush surroundings soothe and energize. By night, it transforms into a magical hideaway with DJs and live musicians performing under flickering lights. With grassy knolls and swaying palm trees, the lawn is the perfect place to enjoy house music under the stars, a Central Park-style picnic with a stylish RUMOR twist, lie in a hammock with drink in hand or even enjoy special events, parties, fashion shows and weddings. What's more the hotel doesn't just welcome people; RUMOR welcomes pets, offering an outdoor dog run, customized in-suite bowls and plush dog beds.

Half of RUMOR's 150 suites face into the courtyard and feature either a balcony or a patio, creating an amazingly interactive social scene not found anywhere else in Las Vegas. Corridor walls are adorned with cool decals and are superbly complemented by the hounds tooth carpeting. The suites create a dreamlike aura as guests are greeted with captivating gray-hued walls and feature a splash of playful lavender patterns, while the magical mood and vibe is enhanced by a carved wall medallion strategically situated above the bed. Suites boast additional funky features - a basket of sugar confections, Warhol-inspired chandelier art and well-appointed sleek furniture. Meanwhile, many suites feature oversized tubs that are surrounded by mirrors and come complete with scented bubble bath for private late night pleasure.

Later this summer, RUMOR will unveil the Fantastic Four Suites by revered designer Mark Tracy of the acclaimed design firm Chemical Spaces. Each will showcase strong architecture, with bold square lines in the flooring, beds and ceilings. Utilizing a basic color palette of gray, black and silver base tones, the suites will be playfully punctuated with bold accents of pink and purple.

Located where Paradise meets Harmon, RUMOR is directly across the street from the famed Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

RUMOR is part of The Siegel Group's Boutique Chic Retreats collection. Sister properties include Artisan; The Resort on Mount Charleston; Gold Spike and Oasis at Gold Spike.
