Princeton, NJ - July 14, 2010 - Princeton, the iconic Central New Jersey town famous for its Ivy League university, historic sites, upscale boutiques, museums, and cultural performances, now has its first boutique hotel: The Peacock Inn, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

The Peacock Inn is a Princeton landmark which recently underwent a three-year, multimillion dollar renovation and change in ownership to create a 16-room boutique hotel complete with its own gourmet restaurant and bar. The Peacock Inn is situated just one block from Nassau Street (the main thoroughfare in town) and a short walk from Palmer Square, Princeton University, and the area's numerous shops and boutiques.

The Peacock Inn's building dates back to the 1700s; however, it has been operating as an inn since 1911. Over the years, it has served as a place to stay for members of the Continental Congress and welcomed such illustrious guests as Albert Einstein and F. Scott Fitzgerald. It is believed that the basement of the Inn was also a Prohibition-era speakeasy.

Perfect for leisure stays, corporate business along the Route 1 corridor, and small weddings and meetings (the Inn can accommodate 22 in its Peacock Alley meeting room or 95 for those who take over the entire restaurant), The Peacock Inn offers 16 unique guest rooms and suites each individually decorated in a traditional and contemporary style with designer furnishings and carpeting. Seven rooms feature a decorative fireplace.

Other luxurious amenities include flat screen Plasma televisions, Revo Internet-based Internet FM radio with iPod dock which enables guests to listen to radio stations from around the world, complimentary high-speed wired and wireless Internet access, luxurious bathrooms with heated floors, full wall tile showers with rain head (and body jets in select rooms), Molton Brown bathroom amenities, Frette towels, state-of-the-art Hollandia mattresses; down pillows and down comforters, Sferra comforters and blankets, and Frette slippers which guests can take home with them.

The Peacock Inn Restaurant is also now open under the helm of Executive Chef Manuel Perez, who trained for three years at Le Bernardin in New York under Eric Ripert and later refined his skills at New York's Water Club and Restaurant Nicholas in Red Bank, New Jersey. His "New American" cuisine menu features such delicacies as Hudson Valley Foie Gras with Strawberry Rhubarb Blintz, and Marcoma-Almond in a Red Wine Verjus; Crispy Soft Shell Crab with Compressed Watermelon and Watermelon Gazpacho for appetizers; and entrees such as Mojo Braised Suckling Pig with Crispy Yucca, Papaya-Cilantro Salad, and Guava Gastrique; Roasted Maine Lobster with Smoked Potato Pierogi, Vidalia Onion Confit, and Paprika Butter; a 12 oz. Dry Aged Sirloin with Heirloom Tomato Panzanella Salad and Horseradish-Marrow Butter; or Seared Filet Mignon with Yukon Gold Potato Fondant and Braised Leeks with a Bordelaise Sauce.

Rates at The Peacock Inn start from $250 per night for a Preferred Guest Room and go up to $425 per night for a Jacuzzi Suite.
