Radisson Blu Opens on Corsica
July 1, 2010 - Radisson Blu Rezidor Hotel Group, the Brussels-based hotel management company, announces the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Porticcio. Located on the French island of Corsica, the 170-key hotel is scheduled to open its doors in spring 2012.
"With this signing we are not only able to further strengthen our stylish and contemporary Radisson resorts but also increase our portfolio in France to 25 hotels with almost 4,200 rooms in operation and under development," says Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of Rezidor. "This project is the most important hotel investment in Corsica for 20 years.

Situated on a beautiful sandy beach along the Mediterranean Sea and 3 miles from the chic seaside town of Porticcio, the new Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Porticcio's rooms will all feature private balconies and complimentary high-speed internet. Perfect for families and couples, extensive leisure areas are also planned, including a spa, fitness center, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools and a kids' club. The hotel will also offer 1,200 square feet of meeting space.
Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Porticcio is easily accessible from mainland Europe; the Napoleon Bonaparte Airport is 9 miles north of the hotel. Corsica's largest city, Ajaccio, is 19 miles northwest. An extensive road network circles Corsica, giving visitors great access to all corners of the island.
Often called "Island of Beauty," Corsica is renowned for its beaches and year-round beautiful weather. Visitors can choose from over 200 beaches on the island (including one adjacent to the hotel) and 620 miles of coastline. Snorkelling, scuba diving, wind surfing and swimming are all popular activities.
