Glenwood Springs, CO - June 14, 2010 - Surrounded by mountains to the south and the Colorado River to the north, the new Courtyard by Marriott in Glenwood Springs, Colorado will be open for the summer season beginning on Tuesday, June 15th. Glenwood Springs' newest hotel is situated near the urban hub of Glenwood Meadows Shopping Center and its extensive retail, restaurant and service outlets. The Courtyard is also near two of the town's most popular visitor attractions, the Glenwood Hot Springs and the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park.

“Glenwood Springs is the logical place for Marriott products,” said Kevin Mahoney, Chief Operating Officer for Stonebridge Companies. “As a commercial and recreational hub for the region, we expect business and leisure travelers will embrace the Courtyard as they have the Residence Inn, which opened earlier this year.”

The Courtyard by Marriott features 101 rooms in a three-story, 56,000 square foot facility situated at the base of scenic Red Mountain. The redesigned lobby, decorated in warm neutrals, includes the contemporary S-Bar, an ideal gathering spot for guests and residents alike. The lobby also hosts The Bistro, a new concept restaurant, and the Media Room, both of which invite social interaction for business or pleasure. The Bistro features a Starbucks kiosk and serves high quality, freshly prepared meals in an urban cafe setting. In the evening a selection of specialty beers and wine is available. Guests are encouraged to eat, drink and connect in the unique multi-use environment of The Bistro. Three Media Pods equipped with flat screen TVs, free high-speed wireless Internet access, and power outlets for cell phone chargers and laptops make it easy to connect both face to face and online.

Visually separating the space within the lobby is a touch screen GoBoard which acts as an interactive guide to the area dispensing printable driving directions, weather reports, and information about local attractions. Working guests will find it easy to connect both wirelessly and in person for business. The spacious, neighboring Media Room houses a Business Executive Area with three computers. A fireplace and large, flat screen TV are the focal points and encourage group gatherings, while smaller seating groupings offer more privacy. A patio just off the Media Room invites guests to step outside and enjoy the mountain air and views. Plush weather-resistant patio furniture makes a comfortable place to perch to take in vistas of Red Mountain and the Colorado River.

While there are plenty of activities in the vicinity to engage guests, visitors don't have to leave the property to work out or play. The Courtyard by Marriott offers an indoor pool and spa for swimming and relaxing, and a fitness room with treadmills, an elliptical machine and free weights for more rigorous routines. Other onsite conveniences include a laundry facility, and a shop called The Market which sells sundry items and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. In-room amenities include luxurious cotton sheets, a coffee maker, a large well-lit work desk, free wired and wireless Internet access, and a mini refrigerator.
