Paramount Hotel Appoints New Team
To Spearhead Revitalization
The Paramount Hotel is pleased to introduce a new team led by Geoffrey Allan Mills, Managing Director. Joining Geoffrey, as Sales & Marketing Director is Melissa Brown. Together they will spearhead the revitalization of this iconic New York City landmark.
Mills will manage the daily operations for the property and Brown will oversee the hotel's marketing and sales for all major market segments.
Mills brings over 29 years of hospitality experience, previously serving as the Managing Director at a number of prestigious New York City hotels including Hotel Tudor and The Melrose Hotel. During his tenure at each property, Mills was responsible for the successful repositioning of each branded hotel and significantly increasing annual revenues. Involved with several industry organizations, Mills is an officer on the Board of Directors for the Hotel Association of New York City, Chairman of the Food & Beverage Association of America and serves as Board Trustee for NYHTC & HANYC both the Hotel Benefits Fund & Pension Funds.
Prior to her new role, Brown served as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for the Trump Hotel Collection where she formulated and implemented an innovative social media platform to generate global brand growth and underscore key sales initiatives. Brown has also held positions as the Director of Brand Marketing for St. Regis and W Hotels Worldwide as well as Director of Sales & Marketing at W San Francisco which was awarded the “Sales Team of the Year” under her leadership.
Throughout its eight decades in existence, the Paramount Hotel has gained notoriety for infamous guests, fabulous designers and eccentric owners including Ian Schrager. Built in 1928, famed theater architect Thomas W. Lamb designed the Paramount Hotel, employing dramatic French Renaissance details to reflect the bustling energy of Broadway. A living timeline of New York's style evolution, the property was awarded Landmark status by the Landmark's Preservation Commission in December 2009.
