IHG Appoints Gerardo Murray as Regional VP, Sales & Marketing, Mexico

ATLANTA, GA - (March 12, 2010) - IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) [LON: IHG, NYSE: IHG (ADRs)], the world's largest hotel groups by number of rooms, has named Gerardo Murray as regional vice president, Sales & Marketing, Mexico. He will join the company on March 15.

Based in Mexico City, Murray will report to Eric Pearson, Chief Marketing Officer, the Americas. In his new role, Murray will develop and oversee the execution of the sales plan and marketing programs across the IHG portfolio of hotels in Mexico.

With more than 23 years in the hospitality industry, Gerardo comes to IHG from Casa Grande Hotels Group, where he served most recently as CEO and General Director. In this role, he was directly responsible for the overall performance, operations, marketing, finance and development for eight hotels. He also managed Board relations, as well as the marketing fund for the group, which included the creation of multi-brand promotions.

Prior to that, Gerardo served as VP of Sales & Marketing for Milenium Hotels Group of Mexico, where he worked with 13 hotels - including Crowne Plaza Monterrey, InterContinental Monterrey, Holiday Inn Monterrey Fundidora and Holiday Inn Express Juarez - to establish DOS and GM strategies to gain market share through local markets and various channels. In this role, Gerardo established strong relationships with key account managers throughout IHG and served as member of the Priority Club® Rewards advisory committee, as well as a member of the IAHI sales and marketing committee in Mexico.

Gerardo built his career in the hospitality industry through a series of sales positions, beginning with the Holiday Inn Hermosillo, then the Crowne Plaza Mexico City (both are now Fiesta Americana), as well as the Holiday Inn Mexicali. As general manager of the Holiday Inn Parque Fundidora Monterrey, he was awarded the Torchbearer Award 2002, for best Holiday Inn in Latin America, as well as Priority Club® Member's Choice Award 2002 as best hotel in Mexico.
