Choice Hotels Owners Council Announces 2010 Officers

JANUARY 22, 2010 - Chairman, Todd Winkler of Madison, WI was re-elected to serve a second year in commandof the Choice Hotels Owners Council. Todd is the President of WISCO Hotel Group which ownsand operates 11 hotels in Wisconsin to include 3 Comfort Suites and a Comfort Inn, in addition to Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Candlewood, Fairfield Inn & Suites and Baymont. Todd has served as the Vice Chairman and Secretary of CHOC as well as Region 8 Director, Chairman of the Standards and Operations Committee as well as the Comfort Suites Committee.

Vice Chairman, Cris Vaquez hails from San Diego, CA where he heads up Gaslamp Hotel Management and the Comfort Inn Gaslamp Convention Center in downtown San Diego. Cris also serves as the Regional Director of Region 12 (Arizona, California, Nevada).

Secretary, Harish Patel , is the President of Florencein, Inc. which owns and operates two Comfort Inns in the State of Oregon. In addition to his leadership on the Executive Committee, he serves as the Regional Director of CHOC's Region 9 (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington). Harish serves as a Board Member of the International Association of Holiday Inns, and has served as a Regional Governor for Best Western International, expanding his hotel association involvement.

Treasurer, John R. (Dick) Wright is no stranger to the CHOC Executive Committee. Dick owns and operate the Quality Suites and Sleep Inn at the Lake Wright in Norfolk, VA. He has served as the Director of Region 4 (Virginia, West Virginia) for several terms beginning in 1991, as well as serving as the Vice Chairman of the Council for two years and as the Treasurer in 1995-1996.

Past Chairman, Johnny Walker is from Nashville, TN. Johnny owns and operates a Comfort Inn in Nashville as well as a Comfort Inn and Comfort Inn & Suites in San Antonio. He also owns Johnny Walker Tours, a local sightseeing and vacation tour company in Nashville and served as the CHOC Chairman from 2006 through 2008. In addition, he has served as the Region Director for Region 7 (Kentucky, Tennessee).

The mission of the Choice Hotels Owners Council is to represent the licensees of through a unified voice, protecting the greater interest of its members by providing ideas, advocacy programs, and services.
