Bacara Resort & Spa Names New Director of Sales & Marketing

SANTA BARBARA, CA - January 22, 2010 - Bacara Resort & Spa has named Kimberley Porter as Executive Director of Sales & Marketing. Porter will provide leadership in the day-to-day operations of the Sales and Meetings & Events Departments while also concentrating on Bacara's long-term strategic goals. Her primary focus will be the targeting and securing of high-end corporate and incentive business. “With 25,550 square feet of meeting space, Bacara is perfectly suited to both intimate and larger groups,” says Porter. “Bacara's meeting and event spaces are dramatic, versatile, and designed to cater to the business needs of the most discriminating clientele.” Porter will also serve as a member of the Executive Committee, Bacara's governing board.

With over 17 years experience in luxury hotels, Porter has a keen understanding of the meeting market and industry trends. Prior to Bacara, Porter worked at Starwood Hotels & Resorts in San Francisco. Most recently for Starwood, she served as Director of Sales at San Francisco's historic Westin St. Francis, where she successfully led a sales team of 10. She served as Director of Citywide Sales at the St. Regis San Francisco, a Mobil/Forbes Five-Star property. As the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Hotel Nikko San Francisco, Porter won the Pinnacle Award for Meeting Excellence in 2004.
