Xavier Lim Appointed GM at The Waterhouse at South Bund, Shanghai

SHANGHAI, China / SINGAPORE, 8 December 2009 - The Waterhouse at South Bund, Shanghai's first cutting-edge design hotel scheduled to open in early 2010, announced the appointment of veteran hotelier Xavier Lim as General Manager.

Armed with more than 15 years of hospitality management experience, Lim aims to raise the boutique hotel stakes in Shanghai with refreshing lifestyle concept.

"With innovative design and exciting culinary offerings, The Waterhouse at South Bund will leave a lasting impression on travellers who are in search of a unique hospitality experience,” said Lim. "We will play a significant role in the re-emergence of South Bund
and Shiliupu, which was the focal point for shipping and trading activities in Shanghai in the 1800s.”

Lim most recently served as the Executive Assistant Manager at Millennium Hongqiao Hotel in Shanghai. Prior to Millennium Hongqiao, Lim was the Director of Catering and Conference Services at The Portman Ritz Carlton, Shanghai and held managerial positions at some of the finest properties in Asia, including The Regent Shanghai, Shangri-la Hotel Singapore, Grand Hyatt Singapore, Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, Singapore and Tung Lok Group.

Lim graduated with honor's degree from Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu, majoring in both Travel Industry Management and Marketing. He also received management certificates from the Singapore Hotel Association Training & Educational Centre.
