Lisa Volpi of Dolce Hayes Mansion Awarded Professional Designation

SAN JOSE, CA, November 24, 2009 - Lisa Volpi, global sales manager for Dolce Hayes Mansion, has been awarded the Certified Meeting Professional designation from the Convention Industry Council in recognition of her knowledge and experience in managing meetings and people and her commitment to continuing education and involvement in the meetings industry.

CMP honorees are considered to represent the highest standard of professionalism in the meetings industry. Certification is awarded based on each candidate's professional experience and successful completion of a written examination. More than 13,000 professionals in 35 countries and territories have earned the CMP designation.

Volpi, who has served in her current position since July, is an eight-year veteran of the hospitality industry, having served the San Jose Convention & Visitors Bureau as national sales manager; the San Jose Marriott, Sheraton San Jose Hotel and The Beverly Heritage Hotel, Milpitas, as sales manager; the Hilton Santa Clara as director of catering sales; and Crowne Plaza Hotel San Jose-Downtown as director of catering.

She is a 2005 graduate of San Jose State University, where she received a bachelor of science degree in hospitality management, a 1996 graduate of West Valley College, Saratoga, where she earned an associate of arts degree and a 1995 graduate of Mission College, Santa Clara, where she received an associate of science degree in hospitality management.

Volpi is a member of Meeting Planner International's chapters in northern and southern California, Chicago, Sacramento, Dallas and New York. She volunteers on MPI's Retention Committee and CMP Committee. She also is a member of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals.
