Dakota Mountain Lodge & Golden Door Spa Appoints Steven Lindburg GM

OCTOBER 28, 2009 - Dakota Mountain Lodge & Golden Door Spa, the first ski-in/ski-out hotel in The Waldorf Astoria Collection, announced today the appointment of veteran hotelier Steve Lindburg as General Manager. The 175-room luxury resort opened in July 2009 at the base of The Canyons Resort Village and features world-class amenities including the sixth legendary Golden Door Spa and the first outpost of the award-winning Spruce restaurant originating in San Francisco.

With more than 25 years experience in the hotel and resort industry, Lindburg will oversee all aspects of Dakota Mountain Lodge & Golden Door Spa as the resort approaches the busy winter season. With a 17-year career in the Salt Lake City market, he was recently appointed as Board Chairman of the Utah Office of Tourism which operates within the Governor's Office of Economic Development and previously served on the Utah Olympic Bid Committee. Lindburg has also held a number of tourism and business development positions including with the Salt Lake City Convention & Visitors Bureau and with civic and hotel associations.

Lindburg most recently served as general manager of the Hilton Salt Lake City Center. During his tenure at the 499-room Hilton Hotel in Salt Lake City, Steve doubled revenue while directing the hotel through two renovations and the opening of an upscale steak house. Prior to Hilton, Steve began his career with Red Lion hotels and held general manager positions at several Western properties including Bellevue, Seattle/Tacoma and Spokane, Wash., and Eureka, Ontario and Sacramento in California.

Lindburg is a native of New Jersey and currently resides in Salt Lake City with his wife and two grown children. Hobbies include skiing and enjoying the beautiful national parks in Utah.
