. October 14, 2008

NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, Ontario, July 15, 2005. Best Western International announces the opening of the Best Western Colonel Butler Inn at 278 Mary Street in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada. The completely renovated hotel offers 26 guest rooms including 5 suites starting at $115 per night complete with brand new 27-inch flat screen TVs in all rooms. The suites include fireplaces, and most offer Jacuzzi tubs. The property features a complimentary continental breakfast, an exercise facility, and a meeting room that accommodates up to 50 people.

Niagara-on-the-Lake is Ontario's most historic town and the former capital of Upper Canada. The Colonel Butler Inn was named for Colonel John Butler, a seasoned veteran of the Seven Years War and leader of the famous Butler's Rangers. After the Treaty of Paris in 1783, thousands of Indians and Loyalists found themselves homeless in the midst of a barren and war-trodden land. Colonel Butler began to lay the foundation for a new province under the British flag. Newark, the capital of Upper Canada, was one of those colonies created by Butler in 1781 and is now known as Niagara-on-the-Lake.

The Best Western Colonel Butler Inn is within walking distance of local attractions, outstanding restaurants, boutique shopping and the Shaw Festival Theater. The property is also located near award winning wineries, championship golf courses, Historic Fort George, and is just 20 minutes from Niagara Falls.

"Best Western extends a warm welcome to Colonel Butler Inn," said Mark Williams, vice president, North American Development for Best Western International. "Travelers are sure to enjoy this remarkable property in the 'Prettiest Town in Canada.'"
