CURACAO, July 6, 2006. Located on a beachfront parcel of land adjacent to the present hotel grounds, the new Octagon Wing will be the crowning achievement of the ongoing re-branding activities at the Avila Hotel as it transforms into a contemporary, luxury resort & spa. The expansion will feature 68 oversized rooms decorated in sophisticated neutrals with splashes of Caribbean colors.

Room amenities will include flat screen TV's, high-speed internet connectivity and lavish bathrooms with natural stone and wood textures and Elemis bath products. The exterior design of the Octagon Wing will be contemporary, yet great care has been exercised to incorporate elements of typical Curacao architectural style and ensure that it forms a perfect combination with the "classic" Avila Hotel.

"We are eagerly anticipating the opening of the new Octagon Wing as we have spent hundreds of hours pouring over the design details to ensure that our guests will experience the timeless elegance and hospitality they have come to expect from us.

With the addition of a gorgeous seaside swimming pool and a new spa, we can confidently say that the Octagon Wing will set new standards in luxury accommodations for the island of Curacao and for many parts of the Caribbean region," said Tone Moller, director of commerce of the Avila Hotel.

In addition to the new rooms, the expansion will incorporate the construction of an expansive 1,722 square foot swimming pool built to meet the beach edge as well as a new spa. The Avila will now be able to offer guests the choice of beach or poolside relaxation. The spa will be a brand new facility overlooking the Caribbean offering signature treatments such as watermassage - a massage treatment given while patrons float in the ocean.

The top floor of the new Octagon Wing will hold one more extravagant treat. Measuring approximately 1,000 square feet, the Bolivar Suite, named after the famed liberator of South America, will appeal to even the most discriminating traveler. The suite will offer sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea and the coastline of Curacao and furnishings will be unparalleled, featuring bamboo flooring and a grand piano, amongst others.
